R&D Software Engineer — Montreal, Quebec

Position Overview

 

The software engineer plays an integral part in the development of advanced software for post-processing and evaluation of cardiovascular MR and CT images. The software engineer shall design and develop technical components for graphical user interface/workflow implementations, back-end server functionalities, reporting algorithms, advanced rendering tools, and other post processing algorithms, that are based on signal intensity, distance, and area measurements in single images and dynamic image series and will work closely with other software engineers and quality assurance analysts as a team to ensure delivery of quality software products. The software engineer reports to the Circle Labs management, within the Circle Product Design Team, based in Montreal, QC.

 

General Responsibilities

 

  • Identify or develop prototype implementations of GUI applications for medical imaging software
  • Design and develop application solutions for medical imaging software
  • Design and develop application framework solutions for medical imaging software
  • Work closely with a team of engineers and developers to integrate novel solutions into Circle’s application environment
  • Work with regulatory and quality assurance engineers to ensure development of quality software

 

Required Skills/Experience

 

  • 5+ years of experience in object-oriented programming and design
  • 2+ years of experience with C++
  • Experience in image post processing and evaluation software
  • Experienced in agile software development methodologies
  • Experience in GUI development, client-server architecture and advanced algorithm development

 

Preferred Skills/Experience

 

  • Experienced in Qt, OpenGL for GUI development
  • Experience with DICOM images (MR/CT)
  • Experience in Matlab prototyping
  • Experienced in multi-threaded environment
  • Experienced in client-server and distributed architectures
  • Experience in the medical imaging software industry in general
Educational Requirements
  • BSc, MSc or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
